How to Find Us

Matlock Moor Methodist Church  is beside the Chesterfield Road (A632) out of Matlock at the junction with Quarry Lane between the turning for Highfields School and Matlock Golf Club. Its postcode is DE4 5LG. It is not recommended that you leave the A615 between Tansley and Matlock and drive up through Lumsdale.

There are bus stops close to the church for the X17 and 63 buses. Parking on the main road is difficult but visitors can be set down. There is a lay-by 140 metres away and there is a wide footpath on the other side of the road between there and the church. There is also usually parking in the lay-by in nearby Upper Lumsdale.

The surroundings

The church is beside the lane which ran up to the gritstone quarries in the pine-covered hills behind. If you are coming to the church you can also visit the beautiful and historic Lumsdale valley with its ruined mills. However, the main mills area is currently closed to the public because of safety issues (which will entail applying for large grants), the waterfall area is open but the whole site is closed at the weekend during the summer period. The two ponds and all public footpaths are not affected.
